Night Blindness 3

Krychek entered the room with the gun in hand.  Scully 
immediately shot up when she heard the door open.  Her 
eyes were focused on some unknown point.  Krychek 
walked in leaving the door open.  He walked over to her.

"Can I have some water please?" she mumbled.  It was 
obvious she had been crying. Krychek sighed.  

"Fine," he said and walked to the door.  He shut the door 
and walked up the stairs and to the kitchen.  He filled a 
glass full of water keeping his gun in one hand.  He looked 
out of the window over the sink and saw several cars 
parked.  He looked and saw Mulder, Skinner, and several 
other agents running to the door.  Krychek dropped the 
glass and the glass shattered on the floor.  He ran down the 
stairs and to the room.  He slammed the door behind him.  
Scully shuddered when he slammed the door.  Krychek 
walked towards her.

"Did you get me some water?" she asked.  

"Shut up!" he demanded and slapped her across the face 
with the gun.  She hit the ground and began to cry.  
Krychek looked down at her.  

"You useless weak bitch!  You pretend to be so strong but 
really you are such a weak and frail bitch," he yelled at her.  
Scully sat back up and wiped the tears from her face with 
the sleeve of her shirt.  Then she held her cheek in her hand 
trying to stop the pain.  Then the sound of a door being 
kicked in sounded from upstairs. Scully looked up 
hopefully and was relieved to hear the sounds of familiar 
voices.  Krychek picked her up and threw her across the 
room.  Scully landed on the harsh floor and curled up in a 
ball.  She could hear the voices of Mulder and Skinner.  
She screamed.

"Mulder!  Help me!" Then she heard a clutter of footsteps.  
Krychek picked her up roughly.

"You stupid bitch," he said and slapped her.  He threw her 
again and she hit the wall.  She laid on the floor and she 
began to cry hysterically.  Krychek made his way towards 
her.  the door swung open and Mulder pointed his gun at 
Krychek.  then his eyes searched for Scully.  She was 
forcing herself to sit up.  Her eyes were focused somewhere 
away from him.  Her face was bloody on one side and she 
was shaking violently.  

"Scully," he called and walked towards her.  Skinner and 
the other agents took Krychek.  Scully reached for Mulder 
when she heard his voice.  Mulder ran towards her and 
knelt down.  He immediately hugged her.  She collapsed 
against him.  She cried.  He put his hand against the back 
of her head.

"Mulder I can't see he did something to my eyes," she 
mumbled against his shoulder.  Mulder leaned back to get a 
look at her face.  He put one hand on her face.  

"Oh angel it's okay, we'll fix it," he said and hugged her 
again.  She laid against his shoulder.  She buried her face in 
his shoulder.  Mulder rocked her back and forth.  

"Angel we need to get you to a hospital," he said in her ear.  
Scully didn't do anything.  Mulder slid one arm around her 
back and the other under her legs and he lifted her up.  
Scully tightened her arms around his neck.  He carried her 
out of the room and up the stairs.  She continued to 
whimper.  Mulder whispered to her.

"It's okay Fox is here Fox is here," he whispered in her ear.  
She quieted and he carried her out of the house.  He carried 
her to his car and he sat her in the front seat.  She was 
scared to let go of his neck.  She laid back and Mulder 
fastened her seat belt for her.  Skinner came up behind 
Mulder.

"What are you doing?" Skinner asked.

"I'm taking her to the hospital....he apparently has done 
something to provoke blindness because she can't see," 
Mulder explained.  Skinner nodded.

"I'll be by the hospital in an hour or two I've got to wrap 
things up here," Skinner said.  Mulder shut Scully's door 
and walked to his side.  Dana could hear the muffled voice 
outside the door.  She was scared.  She felt abandoned and 
alone.  Tears surfaced in her eyes and one slid down her 
cheek.  Mulder opened his door and slid in.  He started the 
car and drove off.  He reached over and put a hand on 
Scully's arm.  She jerked her head towards him.  He 
reached up and touched her cheek.

"It's okay," he said.  Then he took her hand.  The ride was 
long and Scully turned nervously in the seat.  Mulder spoke 
to her to keep her calm.

"Dana we've all missed you so much," he said. 

"I've missed you too," she said. "I've been so scared."  
Mulder touched her cheek.

"I know pumpkin," he said. She relaxed against the seat.  
They arrived at the hospital and Mulder went to he side and 
helped her out of the car.

"Mr. Mulder?" an orderly said with a wheelchair.  Mulder 
nodded. "Mr. Skinner told us you were coming."  Mulder 
held Dana's arms.

"Okay sweetie sit down in the wheel chair," he said.  

"Don't leave me," she said.

"No I won't I've got your hand," he said holding her hand.  
They pushed her into the hospital.  Mulder never let go of 
her hand.  They pushed her into a room.

"Wait here the doctor will be here in a minute," the orderly 
said.  Mulder took Dana's hand and pulled her out of the 
chair.

"C'mon angel," he said and guided her to the table.  He put 
his hands under her arms and lifted her onto the table.  He 
held her hand and put his hand on her face.  She had a few 
cuts on her face.  

"I love you," he said softly.  she smiled.

"Love you too," she said.


They stayed at the hospital for a while and the doctor 
identified the drug used to blind her.  He said it was 
temporary and would wear off in a day or two.  Fox took 
Dana home and her mother.  Maggie hovered over Dana.  

"Sweetie I'm going to sleep with you okay?" Maggie said 
while Dana laid in the bed.  "I'll be in in a while," Maggie 
said and left Dana and Fox alone for a moment.  Mulder 
walked to her and sat down.  He stoked her hair.

"Hey sweetie," he said.  She smiled.

"Hey," she said.

"I'll be in the guest room," he said.  "Sleep well," he said 
and leaned forward and kissed her forehead.  "It'll be okay," 
he said and kissed her on the lips.  "Love you."

"Love you too," she said.  He touched her cheek and left the 
room.  He watched her as she rolled over in the bed and 
cuddled up in the bed.  She shut her eyes.  He smiled and 
went to the guest room.  


Dana woke feeling more scared than she had ever felt in 
her life.  She could hear her mother's breathing.  she 
wanted Fox.  Dana quietly stepped out of bed.  She walked 
slowly across the floor reaching out for things in front of 
her.  She reached the door and found it cracked.  She 
stepped out into the hallway and felt her way down the hall 
to the guest room.  she opened the door.  Mulder sat up.  
She walked in having not seen him.  

"Dana angel?" he asked.  She stopped.  Then she walked 
quickly towards him. "Come one pumpkin."  He lifted up 
the sheets and guided her under the covers.  He clenched 
her against his chest.  She buried her face in his chest.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I'm scared," she said.  He kissed her forehead.

"It's alright now," he said.  Dana relaxed.   The fear she felt 
disappeared and she knew she would be okay.  She cuddled 
against his chest.  

"I love you," she said.  He kissed her head.

"Love you too."


Dana sight returned two days later.  She recovered quickly 
and went on with her life.  Knowing Fox would always 
save her.
