source of inspiration and I had to get this down.

Amputated

His smile
His laugh
His hands
So clear and everpresent in the mind
His comments
His caring
His passion
All is gone from me now
Feelings of sorrow invade my being
Knowing that I must strive to keep my head above the water
I'm crippled
His personal and professional presence are gone
Something dear has been removed
I feel like someone has taken a limb of my body
Something has been taken and something given
I wonder if my strength has the length to endure this
None of it makes sense.
I've been amputated
When I find him is when I can walk without the limp
When I find him is when my limb regenerates
